A TASTE OF CHINESE CULTURE IN A NATURAL SETTING Perched high on top of a lush green hillside in Lai Chi Kok, Heritage Lodge (a part of Jao Tsung-I Academy) is only a few minutes’ walks from Mei Foo MTR station and easy connections to other popular tourist attractions in Hong Kong. In the areas below the Lodge, known as Middle Zone and Low Zone, there is a cluster of distinctive red brick buildings, also boasting over one hundred years of history, Jao Tsung-I Academy. For over a century, this place has reflected the many historical and social changes of Hong Kong. This heritage cluster, through a sequence of historical events, conveys many stories; in fact, it is the story of Hong Kong. Its various functions in different periods is a convincing testimony of Hong Kong’s changing social landscape over time.
