Superb hotel
We originally booked this hotel with a pool view but decided to upgrade to a sea view with Juliet balcony.So glad we did as we had the bonus of being on the top floor which has a proper balcony.The view is absolutely stunning from these rooms.All of the hotel is spotlessly clean and all of the staff are friendly and professional. Usual continental breakfast which was fine,but we did have a walk out for breakfast on a couple of occasions. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Makarska

Beautiful hotel with stunning views in fabulous location
Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in the stunning harbour and old town. We booked a double park view room with balcony but when we arrived they gave us a 3rd floor room with French balcony. So glad as the view across the harbour and sea was outstanding. The park view rooms with balconies are on the back of the hotel overlooking the pool. These rooms are lovely but if you end up with a second floor room you have no privacy as they are on the same floor as the pool. We stayed bed and breakfast which was lovely, eating outside every morning over the sea. The hotel is immaculately clean with a fresh clean look and beautiful artwork. I was concerned about limited sun beds but we had no issues. Staff are lovely and helpful. There is a restaurant outside the front with a bar and another independent restaurant and bakery next door. This is a stunning hotel which I would definitely return to and Makarska is just beautiful especially in the old town area where the hotel is situated . Highly recommended

Warm recommendation for a perfect vacation
Perfect place for a vacation.

Great hotel!!
The Hotel Osejava is a great hotel in a perfect location.
However, I want to make travellers aware of rooms that they should avoid. These are the second floor rooms facing the pool. After checking in we entered our room and were faced with a wall of beautiful flowers. (These rooms are marketed as park view rooms). The room had a cigarette smell to it and was very dark. The next morning we opened our balcony door at 7 am and found a couple lying on the sun beds three feet away from us. We had no view, no privacy and no respect from people who smoke.
We went to reception and complained and were told that they had two rooms we could look at - the room above us on the third floor or a fourth floor room. We eventually accepted the fourth floor room (thanks to the British couple who let us have a peep as they were leaving the room).
It was only then that our holiday started. You will see from my photos the difference in the views from both rooms.
On a positive note -
the hotel is very, very clean and beautifully presented. The food, from breakfast, lunch to evening meal is delicious. The majority of the staff are professional and friendly. A big shout out goes to the lady at breakfast who really does an excellent job. She is friendly, professional and very hardworking.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes I would. However, the pool is small - not meant for sitting by 24/7 but more for an early morning or late afternoon dip. Or for a nice cooling off after a busy day of sightseeing. The hotel has a policy of no sun beds to be reserved before 8 am but that rule goes out of the window and the hotel does not police this policy. I booked this hotel not expecting to see sun bed hoggers at 7 am in the morning.
In summing up I would say the Hotel Osejava is a great hotel. I would recommend it and we would stay there again ourselves.
