Very nice and large apartment. Perfectly cleaned. The owners are dear and pleasant people. Peacefulness and enjoyment throughout the whole island for tourist who like to listen birds in the morning, sound of waves on the beach in the afternoon,... Relaxed and peaceful people who do not burden guests with their presence. But at the same time, always available for any kind of help or service.

Cockroaches the room

Terrible apartments, the owner was not interested in helping when we found cockroaches in the room, he said it was normal. Dirty bathroom and the smell of sewage keeps drifting up over the balcony. This place is not like the pictures online, it is a mess. The owner was very rude to us when we complained. Never going back.

Tragic

It really makes me wonder about the previous comments. Unfortunately I stayed five days at this "hotel”.
• The light in the bathroom was not working for two days despite the fact that we the owner just few minutes after we entered the room.
• Cleaning lady tried to enter the room even without knocking on the door. When we asked the reason she responded that everyone is missing at that time and that we should have left the keys on the door.
• It is really important to emphasis the fact that when my friend booked the room he was really specific about the importance of the internet connection. As the owner assured him that everything was perfectly working, he didn’t even bother to do absolutely anything when it turned out that wifi was not working. So no wifi for the whole five days of stay.
• The toilet could not flush. We informed him at the morning about that, and he fixed at night after we complain again. However it was unfuctional again after one flush.
• For some unexplainable reason they decided that at night no hot water is needed. And even if we complained, the last day of our staying we woke up early in the morning to catch our ship and my friend wanted to have a bath. But no hot water. So we called the owner asking for hot water, and they asked us to turn on the heating system in the room so he could have hot water.
• The room was not cleaned neither during our stay nor before. Asking for some clean sheets, the answer was “we changed them today" which was a total lie, because our beds were exactly the way we left them when leaving the room.
Sometimes misfortunes happen, but such ignorance from their side and not being interested at all was the worst of all. I really hope people won’t get mislead as we did. This hotel is strongly not recommended.

Room overlooking the sheep

Large and clean rooms, great view of the town and the sunset.
A couple of minutes walk to the center & port, where there are a couple of restaurants and a couple of cafes. There really isn't much to do here besides dinner and some drinks, but it is pleasent. The owners were really nice, they don't speak a lot of english but we got by anyhow. Good place to start discovering the island.

a quiet place to stay

Whilst visiting the North East Aegean Islands, I stayed in Samothraki for 12 nights. The owners were very pleasant even though I don't speak Greek and they did not speak English. The owner's wife used Google Translate, which I considered extremely ingenious. The studio was very spacious with a balcony from where I could gaze at the sheep on the small farm nearby. It's very close to the port and supermarkets. Everyone I met was helpful and friendly. As I was travelling alone, this was really nice. On one occasion the owner took me along when he went to his farm which is quite remote, it was a really thoughtful of them to consider me. It's not very close to a swimming beach but if the weather had been right I still could have walked in about 30 minutes. If you want a quiet place to stay I do recommend Studios Saonisos.
