Lovely beach paradise

Perfect beach location to enjoy the waves under the breezy palms. Chill and like minded and interesting conversations around the breakfast table. Rooms are lovely - feels slightly less of a value for a family of 3 since we have to get the biggest suite when we’d be fine with a smaller one but everything else is worth it. The beautiful ceramics to drink coffee from. The delicious soaps. The well designed shower. The quick steps to the beach - truly a great vacation

Oasis of tranquility

Olas Tulum is an oasis of tranquility, set amongst beautiful palm trees with its own stretch of beach. Delicious breakfasts served daily on a large wooden communal table. And you can prebook lunch, the shrimp/ prawn tacos are delicious. Jimmy had lots of helpful tips on things to do in the area. I recommend cycling into town for supper.

Olas Tulum is an incredible experience.

This boutique, all-suite hotel is truly a hidden gem. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and completely sustainable—powered by solar, no air conditioning, but perfectly ventilated to capture the sea breeze. The property is surrounded by coconut trees, and when the wind blows, it sounds like gentle rain—such a peaceful touch. The private beach is pristine and quiet, with no motorized vehicles, making it one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever been.
Breakfast is a highlight, prepared to order by Chef Gabe, who has worked in Michelin-starred kitchens. The menu for meals and snacks is just as impressive. Owner Jimmy is an amazing host—warm, welcoming, and full of knowledge about the area and the history of Olas.
After years of working in luxury travel with American Express Centurion, I can honestly say Olas Tulum is a destination worth experiencing. You won’t want to leave the property—it has everything you need for a serene, luxurious escape.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for tranquility, sustainability, and exceptional service in Tulum.

Laid back paradise

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Olas Tulum recently. If you are looking for a laid back paradise off the beaten path in Tulum, this is the spot. Jimmy, our host, was great- warm, friendly, helpful and a good resource for local recs. The hotel property is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and the beach is gorgeous! We enjoyed meeting the other people staying at the hotel who were all really nice but everyone had enough privacy and space to do their own thing as well. The chef was incredible, to the point where we could have just stayed and had every meal there, but we enjoyed venturing into town for meals or drinks a few times whether on foot or by car. We'll likely be back again. I highly recommend it

Hidden gem

I wish I could give Olas more than 5 stars! What a beautiful, secluded piece of paradise. Our stay was so much more than I expected. The grounds are very well thought out and maintained. We enjoyed the various sitting areas around the property. My favorite was the sunset deck - PLEASE utilize it!! There's a sectional sofa, little bar top with stools, and the very best views to watch the sun set - very romantic. There's even wifi so we brought our speaker and listened to music. We stayed in beachfront cabin 3 and loved it. There's no A/C but we did not miss that one bit. The entire property was specifically designed to capitalize on the ocean's breeze, including the rooms. We had a kitchenette that was very well appointed and had everything we needed. We brought ingredients to make our own cocktails because there's no bar on site - this was not inconvenient for us at all, my husband enjoys making drinks for us. Falling asleep to the sound of the breeze and waves on a comfortable bed was just dreamy! There were two pillows per person . The water pressure was enough and the hot water took a few minutes to reach the shower but not a bother to us. I do recommend leaving your shoes outside your room, sand will get all over your floor and I personally don't like that. The breakfast every morning was a highlight!! Nano made the best meals taking our food interests and needs into consideration. Only breakfast is served so you will need to make up for your other meals. We spent a great deal of time by the ocean and thoroughly enjoyed many, many walks along the beach on the biosphere side of the hotel - the other direction was the hotel zone and much too crowded for me. There was sargassum on the beach but it is what it is. Not as much as some other places had, and we learned to live with it instead of be disgruntled about it. At least it didn't smell and it really didn't take away from the beauty that is all around. Lastly, Asia was the most knowledgable and helpful host! She was eager to offer suggestions on what to do and where to go, and even helped with various reservations. Asia always followed through and was attentive. We very much enjoyed getting to know her and Nano! We absolutely loved this hidden gem and cannot wait to return - there's so much magic in the air here! Oh - we rented a car from Tulum airport and couldn't have done the trip without going broke if we hadn't. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and secluded getaway, this is your place! We went into town (hotel zone) a few times and had some amazing dinners but always looked forward to getting back to this paradise. Thank you, Olas, for being different!
