Parador de Cuenca
Spend a short and relaxing break in the luxurious Parador de Cuenca, with excellent views of the famous hanging houses, set opposite the hotel. Housed in a former convent, this hotel has conserved its historical architecture.

Good room, great location, staff attitude variable
Our room overlooked the gorge which was quite a spectacular site. Breakfast at the Parador was fabulous, I say 'breakfast' as a throw away word but this was a veritable feast and we were there for over an hour before another walk outside to view the town from this side of the ravine. I did feel vindicated when I read the information board that said the bridge, built in 1903, was only intended as a temporary measure before something more permanent was made. So this 'temporary' bridge has been in use for 123 years and is probably about to suffer imminent collapse!
Check in at the Parador was very pleasant although in the evening we rang reception twice to request a taxi with no answer. There is actually a pool there too although it is across the road with no sign to say it is there or belongs to the Parador. Although the building and breakfast were superb, I think when I return to the city I will stay the other side of the gorge to avoid the bridge.

We’re sorry that we’re unable to answer all the phone calls we receive.
The pool area is signposted as a sports area, as it’s next to the tennis court; perhaps this is why you didn’t spot it.
Thank you very much, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Fantastic location and service .
Fantastic location and access to main old town area via a suspension bridge on the Parador doorstep.
Restaurant dining was very good and the food always excellent with staff advising of different choices …
Lots of walking opportunities both to explore the main town area of Cuenca and the hiking trails …
Highly recommended and would revisit …

Great stay in a magical place
This is my second visit and only found out on the second day that there was a swimming pool the other side of the road. No signs advertising that at all.
A very nice hotel though and nice housekeeping staff

The Parador is exquisite!
combination! This Parador is an historic monetary, beautifully restored into a fabulous hotel. (That’s what Paradors are famous for in Spain.). The room was amazing, the location was out of this world, and we were treated to a music festival featuring Carlos Núñez and Celtic Beethoven.
Walk the bridge to Cuenca and step into another world!
